Sludge dewatering is an important part of the whole sludge treatment process, its purpose is to enrich solids, reduce the volume of sludge, and create conditions for the final disposal of sludge. After the sludge is concentrated and digested, it still has a moisture content of 95%~97%, and it is easy to be corrupted and smelly. The sludge needs to be dried and dehydrated. Commonly used dehydration methods include natural drying and mechanical dehydration.
In order to further reduce the moisture content (75%) of the dewatered sludge, a drying process is adopted. After drying, the moisture content can be reduced to about 20%. In addition to the simplest drying process, heat drying technology is commonly used. Sludge drying can completely kill pathogenic bacteria and stabilize the sludge. However, a large number of waste gas purification costs and operating costs generated during the drying process are issues that must be considered when using the drying process.
